Love Your Hair

Show your hair some summer love by following these tips to keep your hair healthy & hydrated.  Summertime is the hottest and driest season in most places.  When you don’t show your hair love it will become brittle and start breaking off.  Try doing protective styles such as braids, crotchet braids or even wearing head wraps.  One of the most favorite items in our line is our Orange Peppermint Hair Oil.  This oil has ingredients that seals in the moisture within your hair shaft when used along with a moisturizing product.  An easy way to use this oil is by spritzing your hair with water or aloe vera juice then rub a quarter sized amount of oil into your palms to seal in the moisture.  Quick and easy!  Tell us what you haircare regime is like.

    1. Yes Tara, the right essential oils mixed carefully with some carrier oils will work wonders for your hair.

  2. Sulfate-free shampoos are where it’s at. 😛 This is a great list! I’ve been using hair oils for a few months now and the difference in the look and feel of my hair is amazing!

    1. Thanks for reading Christie,
Yes to the sulfate-free shampoo….. Yes the right oil blend will have your hair looking and feeling right.

  3. Some really good tips, but as of now, I’m really suffering from monsoon moisture and this has made my hair so curly and worst.. Can you share some tips for it?

    1. Hi Jhilmil,
For extremely dry hair is extremely dry I would suggest moisturizing your hair daily. Using an oil after moisturizing will seal in the moisture in your hair. You have to make sure you are using a shampoo that’s sulfate free and isn’t one thats stripping the moisture and natural oils from your hair. A great conditioner should be used after shampooing. Try doing a weekly or bi-weekly hot oil treatment prior to shampooing.

  4. Thanks for sharing. I will have a look at the orange peppermint hair oil.

    1. Thanks for reading Marianne!!! 😊

  5. Hair Care Regime … As you have asked , I will try to find out something and will share for sure 🙂

    1. Thanks Chandre,
Looking forward to hear what you do to care for your hair. 🙂

  6. Thanks for the tip! Summertime with the heat, humidity, sun and the pool are not good for my hair. I try to pay more attention to it. That orange peppermint hair oil sounds great.

    1. You’re welcome Rose,
Yes the heat and all of the fun that comes with summer can be harsh on our hair. The chlorine can strip the hair of the natural oils. If you’re getting your hair wet in the pool make sure you are washing out the chlorine as soon as possible with a great moisturizing shampoo then condition. The oil can be used on the hair right after the wash while its still damp to seal in the moisture.

  7. I’m very careful not to put too much heat on my hair, especially now that it’s officially colored. I had been doing a lot of twist-out’s but I’ve found that my hair does best when I get a wig or a sew-in. It’s been awesome seeing the growth of my roots in comparison to the hair that was colored in January. It’s truly motivating.

    1. Hi Courtney,
Yes heat and dyes are not fond of one another. However when using the correct products they can get along for the cause. Yeah for the the hair growth. Have you tried crotchet styles?

  8. Thank you for this! I’ll keep the oil in mind. My hair always needs help. It can get so frizzy!

    1. You’re welcome Amber,
I hope you try. I would love to hear how it helps you. For frizzy hair make sure you are using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. When styling your hair make sure you are using products that aren’t too heavy. The oil recommended can be used, drop a dime size into your palm, rub palms together then rub over tresses. When drying your hair use a blow dryer on low heat. Try not to air dry, this causes frizz unfortunately especially in the summer. Lastly if you can get a boar bristle brush this will help with evenly distributing oils throughout your strands. Hope this helps.

  9. These are great tips. I’m always jealous of those women who just come out of the shower with perfect hair in the summer.

    1. Thank you glad you liked the tips Ania. Honey I can’t wash and go, shower and go or anything liquid and go with my hair. She has to be styled before I show up in public. 😆

  10. My hair regimen involves calling my hair stylist. LOL! That’s about as far as I go. She uses all the special serums, oils and conditioners. I don’t do anything other than that. I know, I know—it’s terrible. LOL!! This does look a healthy oil for the hair tho. I’ll let her know about it. Thanks for sharing.

    1. LOL Althea,
Having a stylist to take care of your hair for you is a definitely recommended. Sounds like (s)he has you on the right track with your haircare.

  13. I only shampoo once a month. And I condition twice a month, I do not do much to my hair. I think it likes less of my handling in it.

    1. Oh yeah, some hair types require less maintenance. Mine is like that also and I love it. Thanks for sharing your regime.
